K9 Games

On your mark, get ready, GO, GO, GO!!!

We will introduce you and your furry friend to a new sport called Speedway.  It’s a great sport for dogs of all ages and best of all, no prior experience necessary.  Speedway is great for developing confidence, engagement and improving off-leash reliability.

It can be fast, it can be furious, it is most definitely a lot of FUN!!
REGISTER NOW - SEPT. 20 - 22, 2024

In this session, you will be learning some of the Speedway equipment as well as some of the Speedway games.  We will cover:
  • Barrel wraps (getting your dog to go around a barrel)
  • Hoops (getting your dog to go through the Speedway hoop)
  • Tunnels
  • Handling skills such as sends (e.g., sending your dog around a barrel from a distance)
Note:  Speedway is offered by CPE (Canine Performance Events).  Their motto is “Dog sports for Everyone!”

Dave Rhodes
Dave started competing in Dog Agility with his first sheltie named Zippy in 2010. He has competed in various organizations here in Canada and the USA. He has competed at both regional and national events.  Having worked with many fantastic trainers along with hard work, he has placed on the podium numerous times in various events with his wife’s dog Tissot. He now competes with his dog 7-year-old sheltie Legend in both in the Agility Association of Canada (AAC) and Canine Performance Events (CPE). In 2022, he became a judge in CPE so he not only designs the agility courses for the trials, he also has a front row seat to judge the events.
His passion and love of learning had him start deliver classes at Campaign Dog Academy. It now continues to grow his own programs as DMR Dog Training at Agility World in Acton. He enjoys facilitating dog classes ranging from 10-week-old puppies up to Master level Agility classes. He has seen many of his clients compete successfully in many different agility organizations. What gives him the greatest satisfaction is watching people and their dogs achieve their dreams and goals. Always adapting his feedback to make the possible a reality. Enjoys giving his client the gift of positive feedback!
